Snow Farm Residency: Building a Wooden Loom and Weaving Paper and Mixed Media

Explore the overlapping possibilities of weaving, quilting, paper arts, and sculpture in this exciting workshop. Starting with the theme of 'cherish', the class will brainstorm and sketch designs. Then, build a tapestry frame, set up the warp, and design the weft from decorative paper. When the woven design is complete, the paper is glued to the thread and embellishments can be added. The next day, when the quilt is dry, it can be removed and prepared for hanging. Students will leave class with a paper quilt to cherish and be full of ideas for expanding and exploring these techniques. There is no supply fee; a $75 kit fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class. All levels welcome.
